with Chef Maudie Schmitt of Cafe Rue Orleans 

Infuse some of your Asian favorites with the distinctive spice that Louisiana is known for in this hands-on class with Chef Maudie.  She will teach you how to add a spicy twist to some of your favorite Cajun dishes.  Participants will enjoy Chef Maudie's fried Boudin Egg Rolls as an appetizer upon arrival.  In the hands on portion, Chef Maudie will teach how to make the first fusion dish- Cajun Shrimp Fried Rice!  Then finish off the class with adding Louisiana flavor to an Asian classic with Creole Crawfish Stir Fry.  Great dishes to change up everyday dinner ideas!  Recipes will be provided.

MEET THE CHEF:

Born and raised in New Orleans, Chef Maudie Schmitt has an extensive restaurant heritage and learned to cook from the many great chefs in her own lively family.  She taught special education for 23 years until deciding to open a restaurant.  Cafe Rue Orleans opened in 2001, and has been blessed with much success in the NWA area.  Chef Maudie recently competed on Food Network's Supermarket Stakeout where she was a runner up!
