Join us in the HKS Kitchen for our new cocktail series with Alex Rumsey to learn all about how to create the perfectly balanced cocktail and hone your bartending skills. Bitter flavors may not be something that you crave often, but you absolutely need bitter to balance out a cocktail! Come let bartender Alex teach you why bitters should never be overrated and how to properly use them. In this class, Alex will focus on the role that bitter and sweet flavors play in a cocktail - and how to balance the bitter with the sweet to craft the perfect cocktail every time! Participants will apply their newly found knowledge and craft three cocktails hands-on in this class. Charcuterie snacks and nibbles from Sweet Freedom Cheese will be available upon arrival. You must be 21 or older to attend this class. Recipes will be provided.

MEET THE BARTENDER
Alex Rumsey began his bartending journey seven years ago in his hometown of Dallas, Texas working at upscale eateries like The Woolworth and Paul Martin's. He truly found a passion for cocktails and hospitality, but wanted a change of scenery and made his way to Northwest Arkansas in 2019. He began working at The Preacher's Son in Downtown Bentonville and never looked back! After more than three years with the establishment, which includes Undercroft Bar (a cocktail lounge underneath The Preacher's Son) and a seasonal rooftop bar, he is now the Lead Bartender/Bar Manager working with a talented crew to create innovative crafted cocktails and unique experiences for guests to enjoy.
