HKS Cooking Class Policies & FAQ's:

COOKING CLASS POLICIES

Refund Policy - Due to food prep, planning, and food costs all ticket sales are final and we have a no refund policy for class tickets.  We also do not allow transfers to other classes.  If you cannot attend, though, please contact us at 479-340-1022 to see if there is a waiting list.  We also welcome you to send a friend in your place.

Storm Weather Policy -  Occasionally, we do reschedule classes due to severe weather if there is concern for travel safety.  In the event of a class reschedule, we will communicate through email prior to the class. We allow an allotted amount of time to check schedules and if you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, we will provide you a refund or a Honeycomb Kitchen Shop gift card in the amount of your purchased class ticket(s). After the allotted time period, our standard refund policy on class ticket sales applies.

Beverage Policy - HKS always has a selection of water, tea, and sodas for all to enjoy. We do offer alcoholic beverages during our class events as well (wine and beer only).  Each guest is allowed two drink tickets for alcoholic beverages. Sharing or giving drink tickets to other guests is not allowed.  We do not sell alcohol and extra drinks cannot be purchased. HKS reserves the right to ask guests to leave if they are unwilling to follow this policy.

Outside Food & Beverage Policy - Absolutely no outside food or beverages are allowed in the HKS Kitchen area during class. HKS reserves the right to ask guests to leave if they are unwilling to follow this policy.

Food Allergy & Dietary Restriction Policy -  The menus listed for the classes are developed by the individual chef instructors and cannot be altered prior to class. For hands-on classes, if you choose not to include certain ingredients in your dish that you prepare, that is your choice. Please note if you have a severe nut or gluten allergy we are not a nut-free nor gluten-free kitchen and cross contamination from other classes cannot be safely avoided. We do occasionally offer classes that are largely gluten-free, these are intended for guests who avoid gluten primarily as a dietary choice.

Hygiene PolicyAll guests are expected to wear clean, appropriate attire to class and maintain a standard level of hygiene during class to include, but not limited to, regular hand washing and/or wearing gloves.  Guests with longer than shoulder length hair may be asked to pull their hair back.  HKS reserves the right to ask guests to leave if they are unwilling to follow this policy.

Age Requirement Policy -  Kids over the age of 12 are welcome to attend as class participants (unless the class specifies 21+ years) and must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Participation requires the purchase of a full price ticket for both child and adult. Children younger than 12 are not permitted to attend our regularly scheduled public classes. Please also look for Cooking with Kids classes (typically held during summer) for children ages 7-14.  We reserve the right to request proof of age for our classes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are ticket prices for a class per person? Yes, all public class tickets are per person unless it is specifically noted otherwise.

Where are your classes held?  All Honeycomb Kitchen Shop cooking classes are held in the HKS teaching kitchen located at 213 W. Walnut Street, Downtown Rogers.  Right next to our store location.

What is the typical class size?  Classes typically have 25 guests.

What happens during a typical class? Participants will follow chef instruction at workstations fully equipped with all tools, cookware, equipment, and ingredients necessary to complete the recipes being taught. You will work together in groups of four to five people so some tasks may be shared or divided up amongst your group. At the end of class, guests enjoy what was made or in some instances (like in baking classes) may take home what is made in class. We work with a variety of local chefs and culinary talents from the region to teach our classes.

What do I need to bring with me?  Honeycomb Kitchen Shop provides all ingredients, equipment, tools, and an apron for each participant to wear during the class.  Be sure to bring yourself and an appetite!  We also know our staff will be phenomenal - we recommend bringing some extra cash to leave a tip.

Do all classes serve food? At the end of all classes, guests are invited to take part in enjoying all of the food prepared during the class.  For most classes, this includes a full dinner. For skill based classes (like cookie decorating, knife skills, mixology) light appetizers will be available during the class.

Can I request to be seated with someone? You sure can! When purchasing tickets you can leave a note during the check out process to request to be seated with someone else purchasing tickets to the same class.  Or give us a call at the shop (479) 340-1022 to give us the information.

Can I book a private class?  Yes, absolutely!  We love hosting private groups for team building, celebrations, bachelorette parties, etc.  Please contact us at classes@honeycombkitchenshop.com for more information about booking and class options.

The class I’m most interested in is full - is there a waitlist and can I get on it? Yes, please give us a call to be added to the waitlist for the class you are interested in attending.

Can a gift card be used to purchase a cooking class ticket?  Yes, we offer gift cards for purchase in-store or online.  Either type of gift card can be used to purchase a cooking class.  Simply enter the gift card code emailed to you or the number on the back of the gift card during checkout.  It will automatically apply your gift card to the price of the ticket.

Your staff are amazing!  Can I tip them during the class? Yes! Cash tips are encouraged for staff to recognize their hard work before, during, and after the class.
