There is nothing better at a BBQ than pie...summer pies!  Please help us welcome Helen Lampkin back into our HKS kitchen to teach all there is to now about pie, crusts, filling, sweet summer flavors, and flakiness. It's all about the flakiness! Each participant will get to enjoy Mrs. Helen's classic fried peach hand pies upon arrival.  In the hands on portion of this class, Helen will show you how to make the perfect pie crust and lattice design for Cherry Pie. She will discuss her favorite tips and tricks so that you can get the thickness, flakiness, and texture just right no matter what pie you are making. She will also teach you how to create the perfect Lemon Meringue Pie! You will be ready for all the summer get togethers! Recipes will be provided.

MEET THE CHEF:

Helen Lampkin, woman of faith, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, lives an inspired “no ordinary” life based on the words found in Colossians 3:23 – “do all things wholeheartedly to the Lord.” This inspiration is at the heart of all she does and has led her to become an entrepreneur (founder of My Brother’s Salsa), artist, adventurous cook, recipe developer/writer, food stylist, and blogger.  You can follow Helen on instagram @helenstable
