HKS in partnership with Lux Grills is pleased to announced this new series of open fire grilling classes featuring some of NWA's expert chefs!  In this three-part grilling event, guests will be introduced to the Lux Precision Grilling system of cooking over open flames or coals in order to reach perfect temperatures, get the perfect char, and cook multiple ingredients for a crowd.  Join us for one class or buy the bundle and join us for all three!


In the final installment of the Open Fire Grilling series, Chef Matthew Cooper, founder of the highly anticipated Conifer Restaurant, will share his trade secrets of mastering open flame cooking on the Lux Grill.  Participants will enjoy grilled halloumi cheese and grape salad upon arrival.  Chef Matt will then teach you how to tackle grilled lamb chops on the grill paired with wild rice and Vadouvan fromage that you create hands on.  As a special treat, Chef Matt will also be preparing a big batch of Cioppino (seafood stew) on the grill for all the seafood lovers! Damien Lux, founder and creator of Lux Grills, will be on site to answer questions about this amazing open fire system and it's everyday versatility when using it in your own backyard.

Chef Matthew Cooper was raised in Arkansas by a Methodist pastor father and a food technologist mother. He attended culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu, in Portland, before returning to his home state to start the landmark Bentonville restaurant The Preacher's Son. There, his refined approach to gluten-free cooking and his commitment to local sourcing won him rave reviews. Cooper left The Preacher's Son in 2020 to work on a new concept, called Conifer.  Slated to open this fall, Conifer will be the next evolution of Chef Cooper's vision.  His restaurant focuses on building relationships with local farmers and has a sustainable changing menu. It is also a gluten free dedicated restaurant.
