with Chef Becky Miller, Apple Seeds Farm to Table Manager
Chef Becky is back in the HKS Kitchen creating more healthy conscious recipes to help us stay on track. This class will focus on different bowl recipes to help provide apps, snacks, full meals, and desserts that can be easily added in to your everyday diet! Chef Becky will prepare a creamy beet hummus bowl paired with a selection of fresh veggies that can be a great snack for anyone in the family - don't worry, the beets provide a beautiful color and all the health benefits without adding too much of the earthy flavor in this dish. In the hands on portion, participants will create a caper vinaigrette paired with a medley of seasonal roasted vegetables built into a whole grain bowl. This dish provides a well balanced and filling meal perfect for a healthy dinner. Finish class with making Chef Becky's "secret ingredient" flourless brownie bowl for dessert...you'll be so surprised with what she put in this one! Recipes will be provided.
*All class ticket sales are final. No refunds or credit transfers to other classes are available.*
MEET THE CHEF
While traveling around the world, Becky Miller developed a passion for food that is delicious, nutritious, and sustainable. Her goal became to share the importance of food with others and to build connections between our food, the planet, and our health. After arriving in Northwest Arkansas, Becky discovered her dream job teaching cooking and nutrition classes to kids at Apple Seeds, a non-profit teaching farm dedicated to garden-based nutrition education. Becky has made a home for herself there, helping low-income students across the region develop the skills and knowledge to make healthy (and delicious) choices and helping kids build confidence and life skills. Her passion is making food to fuel a full life without ever sacrificing flavor.
