We are beyond thrilled to host Alex in the HKS Kitchen to bring our bourbon game to the next level. Infusing bourbon with fruits, herbs, and spices can impart new layers of flavor to an already complex drink. But fat-washing can add rich texture and body to bourbon, creating a lush cocktail.  Alex will be teaching participants these fat-washing techniques using sesame for a rich, smokey flavor.  Each person will be equipped with the knowledge to create their own fat-washed bourbon in their very own homes.  Then join Alex in the hands on portion of the class as he teaches you to create a pineapple and pumpkin simple syrup.  Participants will then utilize the syrups and fat-washed bourbons to create two specialty cocktails to enjoy.  Bourbon never tasted so good!  Must be 21 years or older to attend this class.

Alex Rumsey began his bartending journey seven years ago in his hometown of Dallas, Texas working at upscale eateries like The Woolworth and Paul Martin's.  He truly found a passion for cocktails and hospitality, but wanted a change of scenery and made his way to Northwest Arkansas in 2019.  He began working at The Preacher's Son in Downtown Bentonville and never looked back!  After more than three years with the establishment, which includes Undercroft Bar (a cocktail lounge underneath The Preacher's Son) and a seasonal rooftop bar, he is now the Lead Bartender/Bar Manager working with a talented crew to create innovative crafted cocktails and unique experiences for guests to enjoy.
